Crossing Borders
for Better Coffee

Growing up on the border between Canada and the U.S., crossing borders regularly was part of everyday experience: a symbiosis exists between communities on both sides, and we learned early on that borders can represent barriers to shared connection and prosperity.

We started Cross Border Roasters as an homage to cross-border collaboration and kinship. We are passionate about great coffee, but we recognize that many truly great growers are cut off from specialty markets and that challenges to quality can exist long before reaching the cupping table. Climate change, labor shortages, rural locations, and age-old structural problems within distribution systems can often strip the unique personality from coffees that hardworking farmers have the capability to produce.

We aim to change that by partnering with importers who prioritize long-term relationships with smallholders and communities, paying them well and returning year after year, even in challenging years. A transparent supply chain means traceable coffee that retains its integrity from plant to cup, and incentivizes individual growers to keep producing great coffee every year.

Our menu is a consistently rotating selection of washed microlots and community lots, displaying exciting flavors and aromatics, always roasted to highlight maximum clarity and terroir.
