for Better Coffee

Growing up on the border between Canada and the U.S., crossing borders regularly was part of everyday experience: a symbiosis exists between communities on both sides, and we learned early on that borders can often act as barriers to shared connection and prosperity.

We started Cross Border Roasters as an homage to cross-border collaboration and kinship: tt can work for everyone. But many truly great growers are cut off from specialty markets and numerous challenges to quality exist long before coffee reaches the cupping table. Climate change, labor shortages, rural locations, and age-old structural problems within distribution systems can conspire to strip the unique personality from coffees that farmers have worked hard to produce.

We aim to change these dynamics by partnering with importers who prioritize access through long-term relationships with smallholders and communities, paying them well and returning year after year, even in challenging years. This environment maintains a transparent supply chain, with coffee that is traceable to the individual grower, and incentivizes families to continue producing high-quality coffee every year.

Our menu is a consistently rotating selection of washed microlots and community lots, displaying exciting flavors and aromatics, always roasted to highlight maximum clarity and terroir.
